You might have noticed the SHOP ALIVE = TREES 4 BALI donation counter in stores! Every time you shop at Alive, we make a small donation through Dungbeetle to Junglo. These donations go directly toward planting trees. Thanks to our community shopping, we raised enough funds to plant 270 native trees for our first forest planting! WOOHOO!

Where do these trees go?

Nature is an essential part of our lives, providing countless benefits to our well-being and the environment. With the School Forest Project, Junglo aims to bring nature back into schools, fostering a deeper connection between students and their natural surroundings. This initiative not only helps restore Bali’s native ecosystems but also ensures that future generations have access to healthy and lush forests where they can learn, play, and grow.

Why the School Forest Project?

The School Forest Project is designed to address several key goals:

  • Restoration of Native Ecosystems: By planting native trees, we are helping to restore Bali’s natural flora, which is crucial for maintaining biodiversity and ecological balance.
  • Educational Opportunities: Integrating forests into school grounds provides students with hands-on learning experiences about ecology, biology, and environmental stewardship.
  • Health and Well-being: Green spaces offer numerous health benefits, including fresh, clean air, and a nurturing environment for physical activity and relaxation.

Tailored Solutions for Every School

Every school is unique, with its own set of challenges and opportunities when it comes to integrating a forest into their grounds. The School Forest Project offers tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of each school, ensuring that the initiative is both practical and impactful.

Community Involvement: How You Can Help

Every time you shop at Alive, a small donation is made through Dungbeetle to Junglo. These donations go directly toward planting trees. Thanks to the generous contributions from our community, we raised enough funds to plant 270 native trees for our first forest planting!

Our First Recipient: SMP Negeri School in Denpasar

We are thrilled to announce that the first recipient of the School Forest Project is SMP Negeri School in Denpasar. A date was set for planting—May 13th—and the excitement was real!

Planting Day: A Community Effort

On planting day, we were met with a wave of enthusiasm from the students and teachers. The students were so excited about the project that they were even allowed to skip their last class to participate in the planting activities. The smiles and energy from the students were contagious, making the day a memorable one for everyone involved.

The Impact of Native Trees

The native trees planted at SMP Negeri School will provide numerous benefits:

  • Fresh, Clean Air: Trees are natural air purifiers, absorbing pollutants and releasing oxygen.
  • A Nurturing Environment: The forest will serve as a green sanctuary for students to work, play, and relax, promoting mental well-being and physical health.
  • Hands-on Learning: The forest will be an outdoor classroom where students can learn about plant biology, ecology, and the importance of environmental conservation.
  • Biodiversity Support: Native trees support local wildlife, creating a habitat for various species and contributing to a balanced ecosystem

Looking Ahead

The School Forest Project is just beginning. We are committed to continuing our efforts to bring nature through Forest Replanting across Bali. Each new forest planted represents a step toward a greener, healthier future for the children and our planet.
